Unfair proposal?

We recommend those we do not know
Then they take charge and disappoint
So now we think we must interview them
Whose names are forwarded to appoint
This whole edifice of justice is respected
But if standards fall, then what's the point?

All these years of hush-hush appointments
Were criticised but tolerated and withstood
How many elevated were related to milords
Was something not researched, or understood.
Yet proposal not to consider any relatives now
Seems unfair to candidates who may be good.
